Job Description (What You’ll Be Doing)
Cashbuild needs a General Assistant who can support the store team with:
✅ Customer Service
- Advise and assist customers with the correct products
- Help customers with queries and resolve complaints professionally
- Make customers feel welcome and supported
✅ Merchandising Standards
- Ensure bulk stock area is merchandised safely
- Pack and display stock according to store layout and planograms
- Keep shelves fully merchandised and neat
✅ Housekeeping Duties
- Keep aisles clear and safe for customers
- Merchandise stock immediately after it’s received
- Ensure correct shelf price labelling in your area
- Follow the checklist for canteen and toilet/shower schedules
✅ Safety (OHSA Compliance)
- Use correct safety gear and follow store safety rules
- Ensure racking and bulk stock areas are safe for everyone
- Report any safety or stock concerns to the Store Manager.
✅ Manage Stock Loss
- Report damaged stock in your area of responsibility
- Help reduce stock losses through careful handling and attention

Requirements (Who Can Apply?)
To qualify, you must meet one of these options:
- Minimum Grade 10 / NQF Level 3 + 1 year work experience, OR
- Grade 12 with no experience needed
You must also have:
- Ability to communicate in English + the dominant local language
- Valid South African ID or a valid work permit
- Ability to do basic calculations accurately
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holiday
- Ability to work under pressure
