4Racing is currently recruiting a qualified Heavy Duty Driver to support the safe transportation of horses, racing equipment, and operational materials between training facilities, racecourses, veterinary locations, and associated venues.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring animal welfare, transport compliance, road safety, and operational excellence while representing the organization professionally.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Heavy Duty Driver, your daily responsibilities will include:

Operating horseboxes, heavy-duty trucks, and trailers safely.
Transporting horses to and from racecourses, training facilities, and veterinary locations.
Ensuring horses are loaded, secured, and unloaded according to welfare standards.
Following approved routes and schedules while meeting race-day timelines.
Delivering racing equipment, feed, and operational materials.
Coordinating with trainers, race officials, and support teams.
Monitoring horses during transportation for signs of stress or illness.
Maintaining proper ventilation, hydration, and rest stops during trips.
Completing trip sheets, mileage logs, and transport documentation.
Reporting delays, incidents, vehicle defects, and operational issues promptly.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should have:

Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
Valid Code 14 Driver’s Licence.
Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
Clean driving record.
3 to 5 years of heavy-duty driving experience.
Experience operating trucks, trailers, or horseboxes.

Strong attention to detail.
Flexibility to work weekends, race days, and after-hours when required.
