Orateng Mining is inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of General Assistant. Successful candidates will report directly to the Team Leader, Miner, and Mine Overseer while supporting daily underground mining activities and operational requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a General Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting mining operations by ensuring materials, equipment, and work areas are maintained according to company standards.

Your duties may include:

• Loading, transporting, and unloading mining materials and supplies.
• Carrying cables, pipes, tools, and equipment across designated work areas.
• Assisting skilled mining operators and underground teams.
• Cleaning workstations and removing debris from operational areas.
• Supporting excavation and physical labor activities when required.
• Maintaining housekeeping standards across mining sites.
• Identifying and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
• Participating in workplace inspections and safety procedures.
• Following all mining regulations and company safety standards.
• Assisting with general operational tasks assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Grade 10, Grade 11, or Grade 12 qualification.
• 1–2 years of experience as a General Worker, General Assistant, or similar role.
• Previous exposure to industrial, construction, manufacturing, or mining environments will be advantageous.

• Ability to perform physically demanding duties.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts when required.
