Key Responsibilities and Duties
As a Forklift Operator at Malu Pork, your core responsibilities will include:
- Loading and unloading delivery trucks safely and efficiently
- Moving pallets and stock within warehouse and cold-storage areas
- Stacking products correctly to ensure stability and prevent damage
- Ensuring all loads are secure, centred, and properly stacked
- Strictly adhering to health, safety, and food-safety regulations
- Following company safety policies and operational guidelines
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and warehouse staff
- Assisting with picking and packing of orders when required
- Ensuring proper stock rotation and warehouse organisation
Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) – minimum requirement
- Minimum of 3 years forklift operating experience
- Valid forklift operator certification
- Cold-storage or warehouse experience (advantageous)
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- High attention to detail and strong safety awareness
- Physical stamina to work in a cold working environment
