Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following:
- Grade 12 (National Certificate)
- Code EC (Code 14) driver’s license with a valid PrDP
- Minimum 3 years’ experience driving an Ultra heavy vehicle
- Minimum 3 years’ experience driving a Superlink / Interlink / combination
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays
- Knowledge of defensive driving techniques
- Understand emergency & defect reporting procedures
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections and operate a fire extinguisher
- Knowledge of loading and offloading techniques
- Must have reliable transport to and from work
- Clean criminal record
- Must be medically fit
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Preparing the vehicle for trips and operating ultra-heavy duty vehicles
- Loading, transporting, and offloading goods/vehicles safely
- Handling required driving documentation and additional duties
- Following supervisor instructions and meeting contract requirements
- Maintaining a safe driving record and protecting company assets
- Ensuring housekeeping of vehicles, uniform, and PPE
- Promoting and adhering to SOPs and safety procedures
You must also be willing to complete the following processes if selected:
- Medical evaluation
- USCS training modules
- Induction processes
- Practical driving evaluation
- Verification of a clean criminal record
