Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of relevant HR legislation, public service policies, and prescripts
  • Understanding of HR practices within the Public ServiceComputer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer focus, teamwork, and flexibility
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

Added advantages include possession of a PERSAL certificate and experiential learning or prior exposure in the HR field.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive HR administrative support, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting recruitment, selection, and appointment processes
  • Sorting, numbering, and capturing job applications
  • Planning and arranging logistics for meetings and HR activities
  • Attending meetings, taking minutes, and drafting HR submissions
  • Facilitating personnel suitability checks
  • Drafting offer letters and regret letters
  • Executing PERSAL transactions related to recruitment and service benefits
  • Administering conditions of service and employee benefits
  • Processing leave applications and capturing leave on PERSAL
  • Printing and filing HR documents on PERSAL and EDMS
  • Liaising with finance for leave gratuity payments
  • Responding to HR and leave-related enquiries
  • Managing employee records, including opening and auditing staff files
  • Supporting pension withdrawals and beneficiary nominations
  • Providing general administrative support to the HR unit
