Job Overview

Lead HR Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a reputable logistics company for a Permanent HR Officer role based in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This opportunity is ideal for experienced HR professionals who are looking to grow their careers within a structured, compliance-driven organization.

The successful candidate will provide end-to-end human resource support, ensuring smooth HR operations across recruitment, employee relations, compliance, training coordination, performance management, and HR administration. Key Responsibilities

As an HR Officer, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Managing the full recruitment and selection process, ensuring alignment with Employment Equity and BBBEE objectives
  • Advertising vacancies, screening CVs, coordinating interviews, and maintaining recruitment records
  • Preparing appointment letters, employment contracts, onboarding documentation, and induction processes
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR information systems in line with POPIA requirements
  • Handling employee HR queries and providing advisory support to management and staff
  • Supporting performance management processes, including assessments and manager training
  • Coordinating training needs analysis, training interventions, and maintaining training recordsSupporting WSP and ATR submissions
  • Assisting with industrial relations matters such as disciplinary hearings, grievances, and incapacity processes
  • Conducting workplace investigations when required
  • Promoting employee wellness initiatives, including EAP, health awareness, and absenteeism monitoringLiaising with third-party service providers for payroll and employee benefits
  • Preparing and submitting statutory HR documentation (EMP201, EMP501, IRP5 distributions)
  • Supporting BBBEE, Employment Equity, and Work Skills Plan compliance
  • Providing quarterly HR activity reports and ad-hoc HR reporting for workforce planning

Minimum Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in Human Resources and Administration
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, or related field
  • Proven experience working with HR information systems

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Solid understanding of South African labour legislation and HR best practices
  • Knowledge of payroll-related processes and statutory submissions
