What You’ll Be Doing
As a Delivery Vehicle Driver at Cargo Carriers, you will play a vital role in ensuring customer products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. You will also be responsible for maintaining excellent communication with the warehouse team while following all company transport procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Loading, transporting and offloading customer products safely.
- Maintaining regular communication with the Warehouse Manager while on route.
- Reporting accidents, incidents and vehicle-related issues immediately.
- Completing delivery notes, log sheets and operational documentation accurately.
- Ensuring deliveries are completed within customer deadlines.
- Keeping the assigned delivery vehicle clean, neat and roadworthy.
- Reporting vehicle defects without delay.
- Following all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) requirements.
- Complying with company policies and South African road transport regulations.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ delivery driving experience, preferably transporting consumer goods.
- Professional driving qualification or certificate will be advantageous.
- Previous experience driving delivery vehicles during peak operational periods.
- Good English communication skills (reading, writing and speaking).
- Ability to complete delivery documentation accurately.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Clean employment record.
- Clear criminal record.
- Traceable references.
- Must be willing to undergo a medical examination and driving assessment.
